The 2026 WITESOL Writing and Art Contest is now closed for submissions. Winners will be announced at the WITESOL Annual Fall Conference.

Theme: Challenge(s) You Have Overcome

ML students write an essay or poem, or create a work of art, that fits the theme “Challenge(s) You Have Overcome”. Student age level categories are K – 2nd, 3rd – 5th, 6th – 8th, 9th – 12th, and Adult. There are cash prizes for student winners! See below for previous years’ winners for inspiration!

Can you help???

Each year WITESOL seeks several volunteers to help with reviewing and rating entries for the Writing and Art Contest. The time commitment is two hours or less and it can be completed through email. Volunteers love seeing the great artwork and writing of our amazing MLs! Please stay tuned for the call for volunteers each year in August-September.
